Used Jeeps continue to satisfy the brand’s most enthusiastic fans with increasing levels of capability. Yet our clients should also know that Jeep has made some notable moves at the top of its lineup in recent years, introducing the sort of world-class features more usually found in the used luxury cars for sale in Portland. Indeed, you can now get advanced driver assistance and award-winning infotainment technology even in the most-affordable model lines, while Jeep’s latest flagship editions are raising the bar at the high-end of the SUV segments with remarkable deluxe details. Please keep in mind, however, that exact features may vary by model and model year.

  • The brand’s legendary off-road performance is on full display in many used Jeep SUVs and trucks thanks to multiple four-wheel-drive systems with upgraded suspensions, robust Dana axles, two-speed transfer cases, locking differentials, protective skid plates, dedicated crawl control functionality, and more.

  • To stay safer as you explore your world, used Jeeps can be outfitted with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, automatic parking assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and more.
  • Up to 75 inches of total screen display area are available on select Jeep models, including a large front-passenger display so that you can tap into full-color navigation, wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, WiFi compatibility, and Amazon Fire TV.
  • Fine leather upholstery, heated/ventilated seating, front-row massage functionality, real open-pore wood trim, signature LED lighting, panoramic sunroofs, hands-free access, head-up displays, huge alloy wheels, and Harman Kardon and McIntosh audio represent just a sampling of the upscale touches available in today’s used Jeeps.
  • Open-air driving is another hallmark of used Jeeps, some of which come with fully removable roofs and doors plus fold-down windshields.
  • Jeep SUVs with electrified powertrains — led by its plug-in 4xe trim levels — are starting to make a splash in the used-car marketplace as well.

Not all of the used cars for sale in Portland are equally at home in the area’s often tricky weather, but used Jeeps can be just what you need for not only tackling slippery pavement, but also for having fun on local trails. Needless to say, they make excellent daily drivers, too, with composed road manners you’ll appreciate commuting to work, carrying the kids to school, and just keeping up with your busy days in general.

  • A global icon for going off-road, the Jeep Wrangler can bring some of the world’s most difficult destinations within easy reach, and it now gets the job done with configurations that can keep almost anyone happy. For example, you can choose used Wranglers with two or four doors, hard and soft tops, and even HEMI or plug-in power.
  • The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer reign as the brand’s three-row flagship models that combine next-generation technology, ultra-lux details, and robust strength for towing and trail riding.
  • In the midsize segment, the Jeep Grand Cherokee puts on a master class in modern versatility and comfort in both two- or three-row setups. You can also add a doctorate in dynamic driving when you graduate to the supercharged Trackhawk trim with 707 hp.
  • The Jeep Renegade, Compass, and Cherokee are among the brand’s terrific two-row SUVs, and they all punch above their weight with available Trailhawk versions that fully qualify for the brand’s exclusive “Trail Rated” designation.
  • Special- and limited-edition used Jeeps can showcase exclusive touches designed to honor the brand’s do-it-all spirit, with some tailored to recognize the contributions of U.S. military members — which only makes sense when you remember the brand’s own military roots.

As many folks already know, the original Jeeps were specifically built as general-purpose vehicles to support the U.S. military effort. Three separate automakers actually responded to the government’s call for vehicle designs — Ford, Bantam, and Willys-Overland — and the final product took features from all three. But it was Willys that won the first production contract, so that it was also well-positioned to keep producing Jeeps for retail customers after World War II ended. Indeed, the lineup had expanded to include the country’s first all-steel wagon and the brand’s first truck before the end of the 1940s.

Jeep then began an automotive journey of its own: It was purchased by Kaiser Motors in 1953, American Motors in 1970, and the Chrysler Corporation in 1987. Jeep went all-in on global growth when Fiat bought Chrysler in 2014, and all three of those names became part of the multinational Stellantis group in 2021. Today, Jeep is well known worldwide for building fearless SUVs and trucks that satisfy owners the world over — including right here in Portland.
